Q & A

Have you ever been unknowingly drugged while out in a social element? This happened to me last week and I’m feeling victimized. It’s scary being single even at 61 years old.

Never EVER set you drink down.

If you do, don’t pick it back up. Order a different one.

    • Thanks, Tracy, yes I’m Ok. Actually ... landing on my face was like getting a nose job. I’ve always wanted less of a pug nose... but Not this way, of course. It was frightening and it’s affected my confidence that I’m trying to get back.

I figured if I talked about it I’d get over the trauma. It’s traumatic to me to lose control of
my body and land on my face, and that someone would do this to me for some intent that I can’t imagine what it was for to them to do it to me?

Seriously, I’m lucky hearing my animals at the door distressed got me to figure a way for getting up and inside since it got down to 35 by the morning.

    • Jen, I have a different nose (at least it’s straight) and what happened is this nicely dressed, well groomed, conservative looking couple were friendly while I was out to have dinner, a couple of beers and listen to the music. I got to feeling uncomfortable with them and I’d asked for a to go box to come home. They were kind of pushy - friendly up till I said that I was well known at the local restaurant.

By the time I did the 1/4 mile drive home, I was just sort of sliding out of my truck and I made a real attempt to aim myself in the direction I wanted to go, and landed on my face inside the gate on the porch.

No, I didn’t call anyone, I was too messed up to think about doing it. And seriously don’t think I could have managed the telephone.

I think they were trying to woo me into investing money in their businesses.

    • That is scary! I never leave my drink with someone I don’t know. If I get up to go to the bathroom I kill it then go and when I return I get a fresh one. If I’m mingling, it’s always in my hand. I’m a typical New Yorker, I trust no one.

    • Ladies, I didn’t leave my drink and go anywhere, the man changed seats with me so that I was sandwiched between them and I’d have to turn to talk to either of them. The bartend-
er told me Thursday that the woman was pouring wine from her glass to mine. I hadn’t drank enough or been there long enough to go to the ladies room. I don’t drink much when I go out....couldn’t afford to anyway. Whatever it was didn’t fog my mind or mess with my vision, it only messed up my control of my limbs. I recall the woman taking her hair down and smiling at me and I was thinking.... “What is she doing?”

Thank you all for letting me talk about it with you.
