    • The reason why I asked is that there is a student council at our school.  It’s a great way for kids to voice their concerns and brainstorm ideas to better the school.  However, lately some matters have been automatically implemented prior to discussion with the teachers.  It’s as if the kids are in control and this issue will be discussed in our next meeting.

    • My husband’s school has student council but they include teacher advisors in their meetings. They organize fundraisers for the community. They put on a prom for developmentally disabled kids, they have a spirit commitee, they have a philanthropy club - a really neat bunch of kids.

    • I’m not sure my kid’s school even has a student council at the high school level anymore.  With only 60 or so kids in highschool it seems a bit pointless to have a student council.
