    • Lately it has just been me and the boys and the occasional stragglers that have nowhere else to go. I did away with family drama a while back.

    • I’m no more tolerant this time of year than any other.

As far as reconnecting during the holidays, hell no.  If someone doesn’t want anything to do with me the rest of the year, I’m not going to make time for them during the most stressful month of the year!

    • I’m not more tolerant this time of year because I’m not desperate to be loved and to love.
If people aren’t around all year round then why get mushy over a end of the year contact?
There are people that I’ve had in my life the whole year that I will celebrate with.

    • In answer to the question, No, the only people I want around at this time of  year are the people that I connect with all year round.  Whilst I hope that I am thoughtful and mindful of other people, I am also aware that some people are toxic and shouldn’t be given the time of day just because its christmas.  Maybe thats out of order, but I feel its self preservation in some cases. happy

    • Alison, you made me think about the question in a different way.  I have a group of friends that I only correspond with at Christmas time, but they are still dear to me.  I don’t have any close friends where I live now, so I really treasure the ones I’ve got that are far away. Plus there are a number of relatives that I see only rarely. Fortunately I’ve got no toxic people on my list!  Mean people should be avoided as much as possible.

I do try to be extra nice to sales clerks, waiters, and others who are working so hard this time of year.

    • I think I put up with it because its easier and family. Causes less stress and drama as a whole. What bothers me is me...I wouldnt put up with that with my friends and if a friend had that problem id probally tell them not to put up with it. So....leaves me wondering why I would. Have to think on that one.
