I have been having such a hard time lately with motivation. Any tips, or suggestions with this?
Motivation period? Or with work? Or a diet?
I find that when I need motivation to work on a project (house our work), I take a few moments and go outside. The simple act of raising my face to the sun (when it is out) taking a deep breath and appreciating where I am I am able to go back in and start tackling what I was having a hard time getting done.
If it is diet related I’ll be happy to share that too, having yoyo’d the last few years with menopause, getting on a healthy eating slate was difficult at first, but is now just a part of life. I’ll share my success if you’d like.

Thanks Andrea,
My problem is with motivation in general. Maybe this is just a hormonal thing. I have so many ideas, but just can’t seem to get going with them. I hope it passes soon.
Sometimes I feel the same way. There are so many things that need to be done on a daily basis and it can seem to much effort to get them all done. When those days hit, I actually cross them all off of my list and then write a new list with just one thing on it. Then set about accomplishing that one thing only.
When that is done, give myself one more thing to do. etc etc.
Like yesterday, I had oh about a dozen things I “needed” to get done. So I threw the list away. Wrote down, update website and by the end of the day, not only did that get done, but the laundry too and some actual work (I am a massage therapist) too.
I did the same thing today. And got more accomplished by not having a list at all. Just did things as I needed.
This doesn’t always work, I know that, but it has helped.
Damn those hormones anyway. (I got help with natural supplements for that too LOL)

Here is the 5 techniques for self-motivation that I follow to try and get myself up and moving. Sometimes it work and sometimes I have to do a re run through the stages lol. Good luck.Yes, techniques to rev yourself, like an automobile to move faster in your Positive directions.
1. State Your Goals First you need clearly stated goals with deadlines; write them on paper then develop a strong desire to achieve those goals. W. Clement Stone and Napoleon Hill in their PMA Science of Success course state that if you know what you want and want it strongly enough, then you will surely get it.
2. Think positively To succeed in life, you need to think positively about yourself and your chances for success. In his popular gold record The strangest secret, Earl Nightingale says that if you think positively you will get positive results, and if you think negatively you will get negative results. How right is he! This magnificent universe operates in a positive framework according to the laws of God so if you think positively you will earn the cooperation of the forces of the universe.
3. Create a Definite Plan You need a concise plan for the achievement of your goals; and it is important that you work your plan. An action plan in itself is a good source of motivation and it will save you time in moving towards your destination. Motivational speaker and author Steve Chandler says successfully planned work will motivate you to do more and more until you become unstoppable.
4. Welcome your problems See the good in obstacles; as you work your plan, you are likely to face problems but that should not make you to give up. Countless philosophers have said that every failure (or problem) has the seed of an equivalent good in it. Learn to see the good in problems and if you are a religious person pray for the ability to see the good in every problem when it arises. This attitude will help you to make your problems work for you, and not against you.
5. Have Fun Finally, learn to make your work fun. The key here is to do the job that makes you happy. If your current job is not fun for you, do not be discouraged. Your key for now will be to try to see the fun in it. Pro football Hall of Famer Frank Tarkenton was quoted as saying that you should look at any job you do as fun. If it's not fun, you're not doing it right.
WE SURE ALL HAVE THAT PROBLEM ONCE IN A WHILE! MY TIPS FOR YOU ARE, “DECIDE” WHAT YOU WANT TO DO TODAY, AND REMEMBER, THE WHOLE ENTIRE LIST DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DONE IN ONE DAY. BREAK IT DOWN. WHEN I HAVE FOUND I AM OVERWHELMED BY JOBS, I DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING FOR AN HOUR. THEN MOVE ON TO THE NEXT THING, AND DO SOME OF IT. OR YOU COULD TREAT YOURSELF TO A NICETY, ONCE YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING,A CUP OF TEA, PHONE CALL TO A FRIEND, ETC... WE ARE SURE YOU WILL BE FINE!!!
It seems like this is the age where there is a real loss of motivation. I think for myself, I was so motivated by necessity throughout the last 16 years raising kids that I don’t really know what I want. I think it is just too easy to get caught in a rut when the things you need to do can realistically wait to be done. I just try to remind myself that while things will still be there tomorrow... how many of them do I want to put off. It just piles up too much and then the motivation it takes to complete them is unrealistic. It also help to delegate. That’s where the real motivation comes in!LOL
