    • Apparently that’s what sells?  I don’t know, but I’m tired of it.  I just want to see a nice romantic comedy or something and they make so few of them.  Mostly, I watch old movies when I watch a movie because I don’t like a lot of the stuff they‘re making now.

    • I absolutely can’t watch the horror movies, and I wish the kids didn’t watch them. My fear is that they are an extension of these bloody video games, and the nation’s kids just can’t get enough. I fear. I worry. I meditate.

    • My other problem with the movies (and TV for that matter) is that women are still the main victims in the crimes!!!

    • The world today is fascinated with gore, you see it everywhere..I remember a time when those movies were part of Friday Fright Night or only during Halloween..I do like spooky stuff and thrillers, but not extreme blood and violence.

    • I hear what you all are saying, but I happen to love ‘good’ horror movies. In fact, I have one of the largest DVD collection of horror and science fiction around. Lately the trend is to put out not horror movies, but horro-bull movies. My favorite 2 cable channels are Chiller and Fearnet, but very few movies I consider worth watching a second time.

The quickest way to knock me out is put on a romance or comedy. Even the Indiana Jones movies put me to sleep. I remember my best friend poked me so many times in the theater that she left my side purple. Can’t help it because when I sit up, I tend to snore when something doesn’t hold my attention.

    • When I was a teen I LOVED scary movies such as Nightmare on Elm Street series.  However, I think today’s horror movies are a bit too much.  For example, the Saw series is just too much for me.

    • I agree Diane, the Saw series are the type of films I call horro-bull. I think the special effects are overdone and the close ups are done in a way for extra gore factor. Those Hostel movies are just as bad.

    • I love a really good scary movie.  The Omen, The Exorcist, etc.  I’ve never watched any of the Saw movies.

Now talk about really turning your stomach, we‘re watching the HBO mini-series “The Pacific“.  But.....that’s based on history, it really did happen.  I’ll NEVER understand how these men (well, men....most were around 18!) could go into battle like that.  We have two more discs to watch.  I highly recommend it if your into history.
