Do you think negative self-speak is holding you back from ultimate success or is it just being realistic?
Well my thought is this..... If you don’t believe in yourself why would anyone else!

I never started a business without feeling I could be successful at it so there wasn’t any negative self-speak.

Yep...so, the answer must be that the successful people intuitively or innately knew to speak in success language to themselves. Great responses.
Anyone who IS successful and yet still battles this issue? How do you handle it?
It takes a lot of positive self talk and mental toughness to reach a level of success and to stay there. There are always, self-limiting beliefs, all sorts of naysayers and stressful conditions that may get in your way. One key amongst many is to surround yourself with constant inspiring messages, personal development for growth, empower and focus on your dreams and goals no matter what. Thanks for the post.

I have never listened to the “little voice” and people who are like that never venture on - if you don’t do something you’ll never know if it works and if your negative you’ll always sabotage a project
As Norman Vincent Peale says
Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.
I like your Norman Vincent Peale quote ukgirl and I agree, although I do have plenty of moments of negative self-talk that I feel do hold me back sometimes. Good question!

Doesn’t negative self-speak come at the beginning of something from there its up to you how long it stays, if you listen and let it take hold of you and your dreams?
I’ve had to learn how to put out the negative or maybe I was around negative people, the naysayers, the ones who always could see the worse, and mistook it for my own....
Anyway, negative self-talk was a massive hump in the road for me, mostly fear.
Anonymous, I think negative self-speak comes at the beginning for some and that holds them back from trying, be it for starting a business or attempting something new. It’s all about the level of confidence that we have or don’t have.
The good news is... we can build our confidence up! ;oD

I have been surrounded by negativity for many years, but through my trials and tribulations have held on to a lot of positive energy, maybe it is something deep in the soul.
I don’t know, I try not to do it, but it doesn’t work. I think it makes you doubt yourself.
