    • I was in some class or other and another instructor knocked on the classroom door, stuck his head in and told us about it.  Nobody could believe it and when we got our break, they had it on the tv in the cafeteria.  That place was always noisy, that day it was just totally silent as we all sat staring in disbelief at the television.

    • I was working for Lockheed in Las Vegas.  The space shuttle was a big deal- they brought in a big tv and gave everyone a break so we could all watch it.  We were stunned and horrified when we saw the explosion.  There were some tears too. heartbreak

    • Wow, has it been that long ago? I don’t remember what I was doing when I heard the news,
and I didn’t have a TV at the time.

    • I remember it being in the car and the radio programme was interrupted as it came on the news and I saw it on TV later it was horrific - I think not just because of the loss of life etc but as kids we had spend weeks watching and monitoring the first space landings ..

    • I was driving down the road with the radio on listening to the countdown of the takeoff and then hearing what had happened.  I came home and started watching it all on television.

    • I remember it well!  I got up early that day (I was about 18 when it happened) and my dad and I were watching it go up on TV, and I remember turning to him and saying, “It wasn’t supposed to look like that, was it?”  And before he even uttered a word, I knew what had happened.

    • I was working nights and happened to be up and watching it and knew right away something was wrong. Then they replayed it so many times on the news, it was like seeing it on a loop over and over again.
