    • I was speaking with someone recently about my fear of bridges over water (big water). And she asked me if I had an accident or something that made me fearful. I didn’t! But as I thought about it I decided that this is a recent phobia. Unlike my bug phobia that I have always had. Her response was that she noticed developing a phobia or 2 since getting older.

Made me wonder are we alone?

    • Can’t think of any new ones, just the same old ones.  I don’t like bridges over big water either, but that’s not a new thing and I think it goes hand in hand with my fear of heights.

    • No.... but I noticed I’m feeling a bit phobic since the X is making the divorce a very long and drawn out process. I’m feeling stuck here and don’t enjoy the forest as I used to. I don’t see well in the dark so I’m nervous about going outside of the fenced yard at night.

    • Vikki, maybe it’s a past life thing? Or maybe someone else was afraid of bridges over big waters (like a wide, deep, fast running river) when you were a child? Maybe you heard of a tragic accident on TV when you were young and it stuck with you?

    • No.  I don’t have any phobias.  When I was a kid, I was afraid of thunder and lightening though.

    • I’ve always been ochlophobic (fear of crowds or mobs), and I thought I had a handle on it, being I hang out in New York City. My best friend, her guy and I decided to go to the South Street Seaport during the July the 4th weekend. Well, let me tell you something, there were throngs of people, waves of humanity everywhere I looked. I was walking with them most of the way and I started to slow down. Then I just froze; not only could I not go any further, I couldn’t move. My friend sensed it and saw how I was sweating and told her guy if he wanted to go further we’d be right here. Sat down and smoked about 4 cigarettes in a row to calm myself down to get the hell out of there.

I like spiders, snakes, bridges, thunder & lightning. Diana, I hear you on the closed spaces, I had an MRI and had such a fit about halfway through it.

    • Not phobias but I do have various routines and don’t like sudden changes which wasn’t me before.
I would say I have become more of a creature of habit
