    • Our local church is hosting a Saint Patrick’s party, should be fun, but unfortunately we can’t attend as we will be at the Philadelphia Flower Show that day, but I did buy raffle tickets.happy

    • Ooooo, you are so lucky.  I’d love, love, love to be at the Philadelphia Flower show!

I’ll be doing corned beef and cabbage at work for the occassion.  It is always a good seller.  Our little town does nothing for St. Pats.  We‘re pretty much all of Scandanavian decent here, so it’s not a big holiday.  Another town nearby always has festivities, but I’ve never been to any of it.

    • Being of Irish descent, our family is required by law to have a bar in our house. (It is the law isn’t it?) We christened the bar eight years ago with a St. Patrick’s Day party where friends came over with blessings for the bar and we have these blessings from our friends hung in the bar. Each year, we always make corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and beer on tap at our house. All our friends are invited. Last year, we even made our own Irish Red beer and unveiled it on St. Patrick’s Day. We all sit, drink and remember our family members who have passed before us. We look at old pictures, laugh at old stories and sing Irish songs.

    • It all sounds like fun on that day, and Irish Red beer must be a blast to make.  A good friend of ours makes his own beer, must mention that to him.

I will also be posting a blog about the Flower Show after we attend, so excited!!!estatic

    • We really don’t have a special celebration in our area. At my workplace some kids wear green and for the ones who didn’t we give them a green sticker so they won’t get pinched.

I might bring a pistachio cake to work.

    • I want to be Aellis’ friend and go to her house for St Paddy’s day! ;oD  Don’t worry, Aellis, I can’t travel so I won’t be crashing your party. I think bars in town serve the traditional meal & green beer. Not crazy about the green beer, but Love the corned beef dinner.
