How much has gas gone up in your area? How expesive does it have to get before it really affects your lifestyle?
I put $20 of gas in the Ranger yesterday, figured that would get me the places I absolutely need to go for a week. Hubby gave me some money this morning to fill my tank. It had gone up 6 cents overnight.
We‘re now at $3.45.
It is already seriously affecting us. Because hubby puts on so many miles a week, there’s a lot less $$ to do other things.
The $20 I put in every week is going to get me to work and back and that’s all, no extra trips anywhere.
Where will it all end?

I filled up both my vehicles at $3.41 a gallon, do not plan to do much driving for a while, once a week if that.
3.96 at the cheaper stations. Where we usually get gas is 4.26 and filled up all 3 cars this a.m. And my son works the farthest and it took him a forth of a tank there and back!
It’s crazy
Last week I paid $4.00 per gallon of regular unleaded.
Monday this week I paid $4.13
Today I drove past the gas station and regular unleaded was up to $4.23
I may stop going to school one day a week and watching the lecture on the computer. But I live at least 25 minutes away from anything in town so I have to just deal with the prices for gas.
$3.96 at the cheap gas stations. It cost me $45 to fill up my little Honda civic. I will try to save by combining errands. I suspect this is going to raise the price of train fares too
$3.59-$3.60 in my area, not sure about the later part of the question.

I just checked it’s now £6.00 per gallon in the UK as a mean average and this is $9.70 in your dollars - But you have always had much cheaper subsidised petrol (gas)
I got gas on the 3rd and it was $3.83 for the cheap gas. I feel the pinch on my budget already since my phone and garbage bills have both gone up too.

It is crazy, we‘re paying $3.49,but there is a grocery store here/ gas station, they are at $3.46 (which is the cheapest, right now).. But they are saying that by this summer we could be looking as much as $5.00.. Me and the boys are going to have to figure something out so we don’t have to use the car as much, we’ll see what happens
It is $3.69 here in Upstate NY and I’m thinking real soon it will hit $4.00. As soon as this cold weather breaks I will be taking the bus to work everyday...I can’t afford the high gas prices anymore. It seems we are paying more for everything these days.
Gasoline in my area Atlanta Georgia has gone up close to 0.20 cents per gallon in the last week. Around my house it is now $3.40 at Costco and the highest I have seen is $3.59 at Shell. It is impacting my life and so many others we are all re-evaluating what we can do to cut down on driving
I filled up at $3.59/gal. I drive a VW Beetle and it cost me almost $38 to fill up. For the 2nd part of the question, it affected me when diesel went up to $4/gal! Hubby’s truck is diesel so he rides to work with me every day in the bug. Which means I don’t enjoy my music like I do when driving alone!
Love him to death but think about it; you wake-up together, drive to work for 8 hours together, drive home together, eat together and go to sleep together. Wake-up, well you get it....LOL
Oh Angel, that’s the worst! I rode to work with my hubby once, maybe twice when we worked in the same town. I said NEVER AGAIN!
What bothers me is the fuel sur charges that are tacked onto our food orders at work and then we have to raise our prices to compensate for food and fuel going up in cost and customers complain and complain like it’s our fault!

Angel, you got me laughing. ;oD Because of the cost of gas, old VW Beetles sell for a Lot of money! I was looking at one for sale a few weeks ago and a ‘68, which is really old and it’s gone, sold. I swear the price may have been more than it originally cost back in 1968!
