My son was eager to play computer games. I insisted that he has to eat up his fruit first. He took one piece and went to the computer. I asked him to eat the kiwi (which he normally loves). He said no, I don’t want it - it’s sour“. In the past, he always loves his kiwi even when it very sour. I know he is just making up an excuse. So I stopped him from starting his computer game. He then took some kiwi and exclaimed that it is sweet. I said “Why then do you tell me it’s sour” He said he did not know. I said he is just making up an excuse. He fiercely defending himself and went to further covered it up by saying that he just merely putting it as a statement that kiwis are sour. In my annoyance for his dishonestly, I took away is privilege for computer game.
Do you think it is the right thing to do?
