I call it Queen of Hearts.
I just joined this group on facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Standing-Up-to-McCarthyism/375843908054?ref=ts&v=wall
I heard about the group through and e-mail. Here is a quote from that message:
“Guilt by association smear campaigns? character assassination? whipping up paranoia about subversive threats from within, including ‘communism‘? targeting people with intimidation and creating distrust based on race, religion and sexual orientation? turning Americans against each other and exploiting fear for political gain?
We've seen this before. We closed the chapter on the dark part of our history known as the McCarthy Era once. Now, the Right has reopened it by pulling out the same tactics employed by Sen. Joseph McCarthy himself back in the 50's.”
—Michael B. Keegan of People For the American Way.
More proof of Glenn Beck’s intolerance and insanity: if your church is involved in social justice issues, he wants you to leave it. Never mind that Jesus said, “What you do to the least of these, you do unto me” and never mind that the Bible says that a rich man has the same chance of passing through the gates of heaven as a camel has of passing through the eye of a needle, Glenn Beck doesn’t want to support churches that do charitable works. I’m not a Christian, but I think that churches that fight for social justice issues are doing important work and they reflect the true spirit of Christianity, unlike Glenn Beck and his ilk who are selfish hate-mongers.

The comments under the article are good, too. Some people make some excellent points.
On February 13th, 2010, my daughter and I received our 1st dan (degree) black belts in karate! The test took three hours. We did lots of push-ups and did two very vigorous warm-ups, which were made all the more difficult for me because I was ill with a fever and sinus infection at the time. After the warm-ups, we did our kata (forms) and then we did more kata, kicking combinations, and three-step combinations. Then they started messing with us! They had us do a kata blind-folded! That wasn’t easy. Then we each sparred a black belt for a full five minute round. That was very hard! After that, we sparred two more times and finally for the last match, when I was exhausted, I had to spar two people at once! After the sparring came the fun part: board breaking! My daughter and I each broke two boards at once with palm strikes, then broke a board with side kicks, and finally, I broke a board with an elbow strike. The force needed to break a one-inch thick pine board is the same amount of force needed to break a man’s ribs.
One of our instructors was also testing for 4th dan! He is awesome. He sparred four people at once and broke a stack of seven boards. He did a lot of other amazing things, too!
Once we were done with board breaking, we lined up and stood when our names were called. While I removed my belt, our Master put my black belt on himself and then I turned around and he took it off and tied it on me. This symbolizes that the new black belt has been officially welcomed into the brotherhood. Then we were given our certificates of rank and, starting with the Grandmaster, all of the black belts lined up and shook hands with us.
I was so proud of my daughter (and myself!)
I’m still sore and very tired, but also very happy!
