  • Comment on Question about Cadillac Drivers

Posted on Wednesday, September 16, 2009

I tried to answer the question under questions but could not get it to accept the answer but I wanted to respond.
I think that most systems were designed to protect and help all of us. It is unfortunate though that many of them end up hurting just as many as they help. I have been on both sides of the system and there were times when I had money and drove nice cars and lived in nice communities and had nice furniture and such. At some point I may have been laid off or had to shut down a business and I needed social services to help me get back on my feet for a few months. Just because I drove a nice car, or had nice things didnt mean I was using the system. It just meant that I needed help for a season. Having worked in the field of Human Services I must say that people from all races, genders, creeds, social and economic backgrounds all need help at one time or another. Just because you need help doesnt mean that you have to be homeless, drive and old car, be dirty or have absolutly nothing, this doesnt qualify people for help. People do learn to manipulate the system on welfare and unemployment that is upsetting, however its not just that system that people manipulate and use, its everywhere. Political, Religious, Social, Economical, Family, Education, Wall Street and the list goes on all are systems that people learn to use to there advantage. Prayfully we learn to count God as our source and pray. Not often but sometimes we get that person on the other side of the desk that really works to help the system work for us. I pray that, that this is your case very soon. I believe that help should be given to those we need it. Blessings

Today I encourage you to STOP and take a minute for yourself. BREATHE slowly and deeply until you realize the gift of Life that youve been given. KNOW that God is with you, in you and helping you in every moment. You are not alone and you have a wonderful powerful spirit dwelling within.  Be blessed

Today I am sitting watching my daughter go through labor. It is awesome! She is very stong like many of us. I watch here as she anticipates every contraction. I watch her disposition and continence change. Her eyes get a little glassy and her face has a blank look as though she is getting ready to make the most important decision of her life. Then all at once she closes her eyes and draws power and strength from within. Her look changes to peace and contentment. She breathes slowly. As she is doing this her belly is moving. It is the most splendid thing to watch. The baby is moving slowly but consistantly downward to make his entrance. This reminds me of how we must endure life. We must anticipate the changes and when they happen close our eyes, find the peace within us, breathe slowly, concentrate and let nature take its course. Be blessed

Life is just that...LIFE. It is not over until it is over. Life just keeps happening all around you no matter how you feel, look, work, respond or sit there it is happening. Life can only be called life after you have died. So if you are still alive, then you still have the chances that you need to change your life. It doesnt matter if it is one small step a day it is still change. When you die people will look at that tombstone and see a Name, Salutation, Birthdate, dash, and Deathdate which do you think is the most important part of that tombstone? I would say the dash. The dash because it is what you actually did in life. It is what you did between your being born and your dying. What are you doing with your life? I encourage you to take a look at that, ponder it and meditate on what your life is like. You can still change anything about you that you want better. Dont waste it LIFE is so precious. Blessings
