Happy Valentines Day Everybody!!!!! I have missed talking to ya’ll!!!! I thought I would share a poem to reflect on our lives and one to get you laughing this morning!!!!
My wish for you....
To laugh often and much,
To win the respect of intelligent people,
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics,
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others,
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or redeemed social conditions;
to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded .
Ralph Waldo Emerson
And here is the one to give you a laugh this Valentines Day
Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man who is not a creep,
One who’s handsome, smart and strong,
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who will call and not wait for weeks.
I pray he’s gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won’t be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens the door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who’ll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to “How big is my behind?”
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.
I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs
Who owns a liquor store and a golf course.
This does not rhyme and I don’t give a #$^*&( !!!!
The friendship that we all share makes this season even more BEAUTIFUL!!!
One of the things that I am most grateful for are the joys that come from the sharing with you.
I wish all of you a Fabulous Christmas !!!!
I am writing this blog to ask for your prayers for a dear friend of mine Terry Kelly.
He is the father of four children and his oldest son age 21 killed himself a few day ago. As you can imagine he is grieving and questioning himself. My heart is breaking for his wife and him and children.
I just wanted to tell you all about him . He is such an encourager in our office. He is a faithful Christian man and I have the upmost respect for him.
He called me yesterday morning and said he needed my prayers and he wanted to tell me that our friendship meant so much and he was calling the people that have made a difference in his life professionally and personally. He was telling me how much integrity that my real estate partner and I bring to the office. He said he wanted to take time to tell the people that he loved how much they meant to him. He said obviously if he would have let his son know that more he might still be here. He said his son had been down and they just kinda dismissed it since young people are up one day and down the next. He is blaming himself for his son’s death and I have been praying for God’s grace and strength for this dear man.
I am amazed at a time like this he is taking the time to call others and say hey I love you. You mean the world to me when his world is falling apart. He said this is his wake up call to let other know everyday how much they mean to him. Let them know and take time to make a difference.
I cannot imagine the grief and void that they are feeling. I am writing you because I believe there is power in prayer . He is reading a letter at the funeral on Monday. It is a letter from a father to a son. He said Darla, I have to do this for him. I ask for your prayers because right now I do not know how I am going to get up and read this but I know I have to for my family.
Terry has three other children, The youngest is age nine and this little boy is truly struggling. He idolized his older brother. He would do everything the older brother would do and he already misses him so much.
Terry’s last words to me yesterday before we hung up was, “Darla, if one person can benefit from my sons death and come to know Christ and go to Heaven then his death will not be in vain. God is a faithful God and I know He will bring my family and I through this fire that we are going through right now. Just please pray that I can be the rock that I need to be at this time“.
I hope you can just get a glimpse at what kind of character this man has and remember him in your thoughts and prayers. My husband Don and I have cried so much for Terry and it is a reminder to us what a blessing we have in our children Josh and Ashley .
Monday will be a hard day to get through. Death is never easy. It is so much harder when it is our children. This is truly a time when we all have to trust and Let Go And Let God.
I thought you girls would get a laugh out of this. Great song with all the what if your husband cheated comments and all the other blogs.
There is difference between a healthy self esteem and conceit. I am amazed how many women still suffer from lack of confidence.
Since I hit the forties decade I have made a vowel to feed myself good positive thoughts on a daily basis. I search for them on the web, read tons of books and it is amazing the transformation that can occur when we change our mindset.
I am a firm believer in Garbage in... Garbage out. I have a totally different outlook on my life and in the way I see things. I had to make some real changes. I believe a positive outlook is contagious. What can others catch from you?
Below is a great article.
Did you know that your self esteem is continually being readjusted according to your inner beliefs? Having a low self esteem can be detrimental to virtually every part of your life, your health, your relationships and even your career, so in this article I'd like to give you some tips to help you take control of this process and boost your self esteem.
In just the same way that top athletes continually need to strengthen their muscles with regular exercise, so your self esteem also needs to be kept in tip top condition on a regular daily basis. Here are just a few tips to help you on your way to having a strong and vibrant self esteem.
1. Become more aware of your negative self-talk and aim to avoid self depreciating comments which can drag you down. You cannot develop a high self esteem if you have persistently self depreciating mental chatter.
2. Accept compliments with gratitude. Ask yourself, when was the last time you said a heart felt 'thank you" in response to a compliment? After all if you continually reject compliments you give yourself the message that you are not worthy of praise.
3. Keep company with positive people. If you find yourself surrounded by negative people who don't value you, or who constantly pull you down, your self esteem will eventually get worn down.
4. Be your own inner movie director. Aim to set aside just a few minutes each day to mentally rehearse a positive outcome for yourself . Make sure that you stimulate all aspects of your creative imagination with this powerful technique.
5. Make list of all your positive traits and remind yourself of them often. Don't be shy. Each day select one of these qualities and celebrate it.
6. Give yourself positive feedback and credit for making even small but positive changes in your life. Celebrate your successes, even the tiny ones.
7. Take some time to make a note of at least 10 positive qualities about yourself. Don't just go for the obvious things that other people may notice, include everything. Your positive qualities are just as real as the negative ones, and often it just becomes a habit to focus on what's negative, so if this is the case for you, resolve to change that habit now.
Paying attention to anything that makes you feel strong, successful and good about yourself will help to build up your vibration of success. With practice, these simple steps can become a regular habit for you and after all why shouldn't you feel proud of yourself!

I thought I would share my day so far. Can you say, Should of stayed in bed?
I wake up this morning early to my Chocolate lab, Charlie crying to go out early this morning in the rain.
I get a call from my husband who wanted to tell me if the insurance company calls me he wanted me to know he was alright. Don and another guy are traveling in state today and a deer ran out in front of him and WHACK hit the car. I asked , “Is the deer ok?” Don said, “No Darla she is dead and hey, I am ok too.” Haha The car is messed up pretty bad. I said , “Poor deer” He started laughing and said to the guy with him, “she cares about the deer more than us.” I said, “Oh, no baby, I meant poor dear.” He said sure.
2nd- my brand new make- up dropped in the floor this morning and crashed and burned.It broke in a million pieces. Don’t you just hate when that happens?
My new Treo quit working. My daughter was in tears when she got home because she could not get in touch with me and was so worried that something happened to me. I got this lecture ... I called the house and no answer, I called your cell and no answer, I called your other cell and no answer.
I had the back up phone in my purse but I did not hear it ring. She was in panic stage.
Oh, and one of our offers we have been working on has just gone south.
So, it is 2:30pm and I am back home. I think I am going to pour a glass of wine, It is after 12:00 so I will not feel like a lush. Sit back and relax and hibernate for the rest of the day.
Now, I must find some chocolate. I always say is there anything it can’t fix???
