My Blog
I recently went back to work full-time. I have mainly a sedentary desk job and add to that my 1 hour commute each way and I’m sitting for about 50 hours a week.
So far I have managed to keep to my goal of exercising 3 times a week. There really is no excuse for me NOT to exercise. My new company will reimburse me up to $150 for joining a gym or taking fitness classes or even buying exercise equipment. Plus where I work, within walking distance, there is an indoor pool, a running track, gym, and a cardio room that is FREE for me to use.
My routine is as follows: One day a week I work out after work at one of the places mentioned above, swimming, track, or the pool. Another day after work I go for a walk or bike riding with my son. And the third time I exercise, I take a fitness class such as Piloxing, Yoga, Zumba, or Barworks at the studio I recently joined.
I feel it’s important to exercise especially since I spend so much time sitting. Also by doing a variety of exercise activities, I don’t get bored and I really LOVE my group classes!!
A coworker of mine joined me earlier this week at the gym and that was great! I wish I could have someone join me all the time but it doesn’t always work out that way. I just have to keep at it and hope I can continue working out three times a week.
