  • SNOWSTORM

Posted on Saturday, January 30, 2010

We have been stuck by a wonderful sonwstorm that has left us with 9.5 inches of snow and it’s starting to snow again. I live in NC and this is very unusual for us to get this much snow. I took a couple of pictures of the wonderful snowstorm.

  • ANTIQUES

Posted on Monday, August 31, 2009

This past week, I have been dealing with the pain of my wisdom teeth coming in. So of course, I haven’t been as alert as I usually am. My husband came home from work on Saturday and told me he had a surprise for me and of course I get all excited. So, I’m laying in the bed waiting on my surprise and in walks him and his best friend with a big box-like looking thing. I’m wondering what it is and waiting for them to get it situated in the house. Once it’s finally in, I get up and look at it, still wondering what it is. Turns out, it’s an old stereo with a recored player, radio, and an eight-track player. That’s right, I said EIGHT-TRACK PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in shock, I haven’t seen one of those since I was a little girl. My husband said that he found it at a yard sale and he only paid $10.00 for it. I couldn’t believe it.!!!!  And of course, we had to try it out, so he went to the antique store and found some albums(we haven’t found any eight-tracks yet). Here are some pictures of it.... I haven’t refinished the wood yet, but when I do, I’ll take even more pictures.

  • BUSY, BUSY BUSY

Posted on Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Hey ladies, I hope everyone has had a TERRIFIC summer. I’ve had a very busy and entertaining summer. First, my nephew graduated high school and my husband and I threw him a party(I’ll post pictures later). Then at the end of June, was my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. So of course, we had to do it up for that. On to July, my mother turned 70 years old and again my husband and I threw a huge party for her( which by the way, turned out great), everyone was on their best behaviour. The very next week, we had a get together for my sister, nephew, neice and cousin whose birthdays all fall on the same day in July. And now, we are keeping my great neice until after lLabor Day and we are having a ball spoiling her rotten.....lol(I’ve posted some pictures of her).

And the real big joy is, I have reconnected with some of my highschool friends through facebook and we actually had a get together at my house. I have had a busy summer and now that it’s winding down, I can finally relax and get back in the  groove with you FABULOUS ladies. I hope everyone had a great summer.

  • Family Drama

Posted on Thursday, June 18, 2009

Once again, my family has pulled out the drama card and I’m gonna need some advice on this one. Here’s the situation..... my mother is turning 70 on July 12. And I thought it would be nice if her children gave her a surprise birthday party. So I told my brothers and sisters about the idea and they all agreed that we should do it. The problem was that nobody but me really had the time to dedicate to planning this party.Because I’m a housewife, they all elected me to do everything and I really don’t mind doing it. Now here’s where the situation gets sticky.... I’ve already got everything planned.... the menu, the decorations, the guest list, I’ve even ordered invitations to be sent out. And I did all this by myself without any help from them. Now that everything is planned, they have a lot of ideas or suggestions and they want me to change what I’ve planned.

My older brother calls me a control freak and says that I’m trying to shut them out of the plans. But they didn’t have time so why is everyone having a problem with what I did? Instead of supporting me, they are nit-picking at every little thing that I’ve done. I am so frustrated that I just want to call the whole thing off. Do you think that I’m being a control freak because I won’t do what they want?I just wanted to do something really special and nice for our mother and everyone else is turning it into a big drama-filled production.

                        HELP!!!!!!

  • Cool Air

Posted on Tuesday, June 9, 2009

Today , the repairman finally came and installed my new air conditioner unit. I was so happy to see him, I almost cried!!!!LOL We purchased a little window unit last week but of course, it doesn’t cool off the whole house. So now, I have a cool house all over again. The only bad part is that this new unit set me and my husband back about $1500. And I actually had to use my credit card to pay for it, so now, I’m gonna have to cut back on my shopping. But I think that I would rather have cool air than being able tyo shop right now. I can actually sit back and chill with a nice glass of wine and a chocolate bar and enjoy my cool air, which is what I“m gonna do tonight.

    Thank God for cool air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
