I have been seeing a man for about a half a year that I met through friends. Recently we broke up, but after a month of being apart we started to see each other again and give us another chance. During the time we were apart, he was dating other women from a dating site which I knew he was going to do. But here is the thing, for his birthday a few months back prior to us breaking up, I bought him a very nice bottle of wine. I saw the empty bottle in his house and was hurt by the fact he obviously shared what I bought him with another woman while we were apart. I realize I had no right to chose what he did with that gift as we were apart during that time, but for some reason I feel it was a heartless thing to do. I know he would have thought of me as he grabbed that bottle of wine but disregarded that to entertain his date. I put myself in his shoes and if I had any feelings at all for the person who gave me that bottle of wine as a gift, I could not have shared that with another man without feeling bad.
Am I over reacting or does anyone else think the same way I do? I guess I am just trying to validate my feelings. What concerns me the most is the coldness of it all, should I be worried about his motivation to be back with me?
