How do you fell about yellow? As a color in the garden, I mean? Somehow yellow is a bit overlooked – in my garden as well – but it is a bit strange. All these little sunny flowers bring so much joy, and my mood always lifts at the sight of them.
This beautiful yellow rose is from David Austin in England. I visited his rose garden (and plant centre) last summer, and of course I had to bring home some beauties. This is one of them. I can't remember the name, but it smells divine...
This week I am writing like mad, because deadline on one of my magazines is approaching. But I found this lovely video that I would like to share with you...
These old boys from Royal Chelsea Hospital in London made their debut album last year to collect money for the modernization of their home. Aren’t they just great...?!
I put this short film on my “official” Facebook today, and I would like to share it here as well.
It really touched me - and maybe it will touch you too...
Do you know Helene Hanff ? She is one of my favorite writers...
She was an American, who in her eager search for books more or less accidentally came into contact with a small bookshop in 84 Charing Cross Road in London.
In her book with the same name she describes in a very lively and entertaining way about the correspondence between herself and the owner of the bookstore - and later some of the employees. For two decades they exchanged letters and packages, and despite the distance close friendships grew up.
The story is based on real events and has been made into a very charming movie with Ann Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins in the leading roles. It is available on DVD. It is so worth seeing...
I’ve written a Danish blog for more than two years now, and I started without really knowing what it entailed. It just sounded fun - and also a little weird. For why on earth should one write private things in an open forum?
Initially it was my idea to bring some of the articles, I had written - about health, nature, Denmark and England. But the blog evolved, like such things often do, and today it is almost a kind of diary.
Here I write thoughts and ideas, happy experiences and crazy whims. Here I share childhood memories and photographs and everything that is probably not always interesting to others.
But blogging also "forces" me to think. To use my brain. To formulate impressions and record them. To photograph or draw or whatever. To show and share knitting's and cakes and other things I've made.
In short: A blog “forces” one to be creative. For me that is a very good reason to get a blog ...
Mocha and his first Broccoli
Do you know Mocha? He is so adorable. Just watching this makes me smile...
