  • The Countess of Glamour Celebrates 62 Years of Wonderful Wedded Bliss

Posted on Saturday, August 17, 2013

Hello, everyone!  We at [Link Removed] are big in believing in true love, which is why it warmed our hearts to see our Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, celebrate her 62nd anniversary with her beloved Sandy recently.  After all, it isn't everyday that one gets to witness true love and happiness - something that never goes out of style.

On the evening of the anniversary, The Countess of Glamour invited her closest friends, including the entire [Link Removed] team to join the lovely couple in celebrating their latest milestone in their home.  An intimate setting that consisted of champagne, wine, and cupcakes, a fun time was had by all.  What's more, it was heartwarming to be considered as Lynn Dell's nearest and dearest, as we've been privileged to be a part of her life for many years.

Upon hearing the news that the newest prince in the Royal Family was born on their anniversary day, The Countess of Glamour mused that she would not trade places with any king.  After all, her wonderful marriage to her beloved Sandy and her unparalleled success with [Link Removed] has offered her an invaluable amount of blessings that she cherishes each and every day.

From the [Link Removed] family, we congratulate Lynn Dell and her beloved Sandy on 62 years of wedded bliss and wish them 62 more sensational years.

Although they have seen most of the musicals on the Great White Way, the fabulous Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, and our beautiful bookkeeper, Nilda, were [Link Removed]'s fantastic fashion consultant, Pat, as well as the divine Deidra Baker, along for the ride with the promise of four great seats to the most wonderful show in town. Just a tiny bit biased towards the fancy dancing of the stars of the show, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff from Dancing with the Stars, they were thrilled to find that their tango was even more passionate than ever.

    photo 2BLOG

While every single lady was decked out, Nilda's look was truly a sight to behold.  She looked absolutely chic when she'd paired black pants with our pointed chiffon top in a lovely lime color, as she knows that it is versatile enough to wear with anything in her wardrobe.  Priced at $87 at [Link Removed], it is fantastic enough to wear all year round.  What's more, this sophisticated top is a one-size-fits-most fit that is available in a variety of 15 colors – including the turquoise and royal pieces that we will be debuting this fall.

It's incredible that such a classic top can cause such a buzz at the hottest ticket in town, but our Nilda showed every attendee at the Forever Tango encore show that one can look gorgeous at an incredible price.  We at [Link Removed] think that this elegant chiffon top is the ideal wardrobe piece that will complement every kind of style. Whether you want to showcase a dazzling necklace, a sensational scarf, or a beautiful brooch, it will work wonders as the canvas to build your fashionable look from.

  • Off Broadway Boutique’s Invited Guest: Ron Albanese

Posted on Sunday, August 11, 2013

Hi, everyone!  One of the most rewarding things about [Link Removed] is the chance friendships that are made within our glitzy walls.  In selling fabulous glamour through our glimmering jewelry, audacious fashions, and eye-catching accessories, we have successfully caught the attention of passerby for over 50 years – as was the case with the delightful Ron Albanese, a successful usher who is currently working with Billy Crystal's upcoming revival of his one-man Broadway show, 700 Sundays.

Upon spying the autographed photo of Elizabeth Taylor among our Wall of Stars at our entrance, Ron was compelled to inquire about borrowing it to make a copy to add to his personal collection.  Immediately spying The Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, seated at her usual front table, he stated his case while emphasizing how big a fan he is of the late movie legend and trailblazing AIDS activist.  Just as huge a fan, she informed him that Ms. Taylor was, indeed, a customer at [Link Removed] and proceeded to share a few stories about her.  After agreeing to lend the photograph to Ron, Lynn Dell invited him to sit and chat after he returned from the copy store.

Although Ron had returned with it as promised about 20 minutes, it was his charming demeanor and compelling background that truly impressed The Countess of Glamour.  Having started out as a model and actor, he had decided to follow his heart into a career behind the scenes on Broadway – a decision that provided him a true appreciation of star power, which he'd readily recognized in our Lynn Dell.  In addition to sharing a love of the Great White Way, both possessed a passionate appreciation for the glamour that is depicted at [Link Removed]. After a lengthy discussion about their lives, loves, and dreams, Ron declared with conviction that Lynn Dell "is a blessing to the Upper West Side".

Before leaving our shop, we asked Ron to share his thoughts online about his stepping inside Off Broadway Boutique and meeting the fabulous Countess of Glamour after he'd invited us to connect with him.  The result was a sincere recommendation on our LinkedIn page that truly captured her heart:

Lynn is one of the greatest Lady's on the island of Manhattan that remains in the retail business world...and, remains in the exact same boutique for decades and decades. She Is An Icon... She is highly intelligent, highly gifted in fashion, incredibly kind and sweet to her entire staff... and, everyone, and anyone who walks through the entrance of her boutique door. You will see her designs, and photos of her designs, in books, magazines, and most local and international newspapers. And, many, she is actually in them. -Along side of that... She has had most and big names of Broadway/Hollywood/and off-broadway in her boutique shopping and having a grand time through all these decades...! ~ Even My Dearest Beloved, Elizabeth Taylor was shopping in her fabulous boutique... Lynn is extremely dear to me, and has a very special place in my heart... May Almighty God Always Keep Her Close To His Heart ... as He has always ... and, will always.

  • Dazzled by Dance: The Countess of Glamour and Nilda at Forever Tango

Posted on Thursday, August 8, 2013

    Louise scottiBLOG

Hello, everyone!  Our Countess of Glamour, Lynn Dell, has never been shy about her love of dance, which is why she made it her business to see the Broadway show that everyone had been buzzing about – Forever Tango. Even more exciting was that she'd found someone who was just as passionate about the tango, our beloved head bookkeeper at [Link Removed] - as well as her close friend and relative - Nilda.  To say that it was a special evening is an understatement, as it was – according to both ladies – hands down the best show that they had seen.

Upon arriving in front of the Walter Kerr theatre, Lynn Dell and Nilda met a couple who was just as thrilled to see the astounding show that was the brainchild of director, Luis Bravo.  While the dapper gentleman was the picture of handsomeness, the lady, Louise Scotti, looked absolutely smashing – de rigueur for a night out in the Big Apple.  Naturally, Lynn Dell decided to take a photo with Ms. Scotti, as she guessed correctly that it'd be a memorable snapshot captured in time.  Becoming instant friends, each pair vowed to run into one another again.

It dawned on The Countess of Glamour that this upcoming performance shared similarities with the glamour that we provide to our clients on a daily basis.  Nilda mused that watching the upcoming performance would be akin to seeing our vision come to life through dance.  This was such an apt metaphor for [Link Removed]'s atmosphere, as both ladies were immediately swept into the world of tango from the first strains of a sultry song.

From there, the amazingly talented, Gilberto Santa Rosa, serenaded them with tunes that showcased his magnificent voice.  A multiple Grammy nominee, the crooner had a fantastic gift for capturing the fluidity of the dancing and costumes through song.  Soon after, Lynn Dell and Nilda were treated to wonderful performances by Dancing with the Stars champions, Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.  Awestruck throughout the entire show, both ladies thoroughly enjoyed the magnificent experience so much that they were ready to tango by the time the curtains came down.

Instead, The Countess of Glamour and Nilda decided to enjoy an after-theatre meal at Hurley's Saloon across the street from the theatre.  The scrumptious fish and chips, along with the refreshing beer, was a wonderful way for two of [Link Removed]'s most elegant dames to cap off a sexy, glamorous, and wonderful time that will definitely serve as inspiration for future fashion, jewelry, and accessories in our shop.  A super evening was had by all and it was due to the dazzling performers, who were truly the best!

  • Dress To Impress: A Glorious Evening with Girlfriends

Posted on Tuesday, August 6, 2013

Hello, ladies!  We at [Link Removed] know that a date with girlfriends is just as important as a date with your beloved, which is why dressing for the occasion is a must!  Luckily for you, inspiration can be taken from our one and only Countess of Glamour, who knows a thing or three about flaunting sensational style.  Never one to stay home night after night, she relishes the times that she spends with her friends and makes sure that her outfits always reflects this.

Not sure how to dress for your next date with your girlfriends?  Take a page out of Lynn Dell's book, as her dinner-and-theatre duds were a smash hit with her fellow gal pals, Linda Derector and Deidra Baker.  Draped in a flowing Moroccan cotton tunic, pants, and head wrap that glowed in a glorious yellow hue, the exclusive [Link Removed] outfit was the perfect choice to bring out the golden shine in her bangles and earrings.

Not to be outdone, eyewear diva extraordinaire and owner of Out of the Ordinary Eyewear, Linda Derector, wore a long striped caftan that was equal parts trendy and elegant.  Considering that she has made a successful business out of treasure trove of vintage designer eyewear – a pair of which she'd had on that night - it made perfect sense for her to dress sensationally for their dinner date.

The third member of the fabulous trio, Deidra Baker, wowed in a leopard trench coat that complemented her champagne-colored 'do. [Link Removed], she took the bold and beautiful route in making a splash that evening.  The result was a smashing impression that almost eclipsed the actual show that they'd gone to see, as well as the delicious food that they'd enjoyed afterwards.
