A Guide to Oil Pulling
Extracts taken form the book Oil Pulling Therapy by  Dr. Bruce Fefe, ND

Our mouths are a reflection of the health inside our bodies; If you have poor dental health, you are bound to have other health problems. Despite regular brushing and flossing, approximately 90% of the population has some degree of gum disease or tooth decay. Most people are not even aware they have existing dental problems.

Recent Research has demonstrated a direct link between oral health and chronic illness. Simply improving the health of your teeth and gums may cure many chronic problems. Oil Pulling Therapy is an age-old method of oral cleansing originating from Ayurvedic medicine. It is one of the most powerful and effective methods of detoxification and healing in natural medicine

Oil Pulling STEP-BY-STEP
1. Start on an empty stomach. A drink of water before you start is recommended to help promote the production of saliva
2. Take 2-3 teaspoons of liquid coconut oil into your mouth. The amount depends on what feels comfortable to you. You don't want too much because you need to leave room for the secretion of saliva
3. Keeping your lips close, such, push, and pull the oil through the teeth and gums and over every surface of the inside of your mouth.
4. Do not gargle the oil! Do not swallow the oil! It is full of bacteria and toxins accumulated from your mouth. If you accidentally swallow a portion while you are pulling, don't worry, but avoid if possible.
5. Be relaxed, but keep the oil and saliva working constantly in your mouth for a total of 15-20 minutes. The solution should turn a milky white.
6. Discard the oil in the bin. Do not spit down the sink as eventually it may clog up the drain.
7. Rinse out the mouth and follow with a drink of water.
8. Follow this procedure at least once a day.
