On the question what are the best dog breeds for an apartment , there is no single answer. Of course, all dogs are equally good. It all depends on your desire or your ability. If you need a guard dog, and you have enough money, you can choose a large dog. An important issue in the choice of four-legged friend is also the fact that the large and active dogs require a lot of space, while smaller dogs occupy much less space. So if you have a small apartment, it is better to get a small dog.

I am looking for a small dog that is a low to non-shedder as I have allergies that I deal with, but have read that there are certain types of hypo-allergenic dogs...what are your thoughts? I do have a home also.
Mary, if you don’t mind grooming, Shih~Tzus are great little non shedding dogs.
