Last week I had decided on what to serve at tonight’s family birthday party.  I was all ‘barred’ up, sort of speak.

Then I felt it Monday afternoon.  Rain!  By the time the storm arrived Thursday I felt like a truck had run me over.  While the weather forecasters swore it was over, I knew better.

Rained Friday, off and on Saturday and today-drizzling as I limped out for the Sunday paper.

Also, our youngest grandson loves noodle kugel way more than baked potatoes.

We‘re also eating inside.

It just better dry up in time for the fire pit and s‘more making afterwards.  S‘mores are just not the same when put on a plate and zapped in the microwave.

DH still wants me to slice the ham to warm up on the grill.  Hoping that works out as well.

But the salad bar is ready to be put out, the kugel is ready for the oven and I’ve got all the ingredients for the dessert.

Hear that weather? You can’t stop the birthday fun even with an errant rainstorm here in the middle of the Sonoran!

Love it
