And it’s not because of too much green beer!
About a week and half ago my Dr heard a heart murmur ( I went in because od a sore back!) and that set some things into motion. Some blood work followed by a visit to a cardiologist and then today...... more bloodwork, an echocardiogram, and a stress test. Ok fine! You gotta do what you gotta do and since heart disease runs in my family I guess being checked out is all good.
Last week the Dr had me staryt on baby aspirin and niacin. The niacin is for my cholestrol which is high but she expected it to be since there again is family history.
Yesterday I had the most lovely experience with the niacin...... an instant and bit painful sunburn feeling all over my body! This lasted about 30 min and then went away but left me wiped out and freezing.
Today was all that testing so I had to fast....which also meant no coffee! Yikes no coffee??? Testing began at 7:30am and I didn’t finish until 11:30am. Still no coffee......argh!!!!
So I get home and get the coffee brewing. I have to make up for lost time with my coffee. Oops! I should have eaten first!!! So this has me feeling a little woozy.....
And feeling GREEN!
Oh no, you better get something to eat also. I hope you get back to feeling good again Vikki and get your color back. Not sure green would look good as a skin color...hehehe

So sorry you are not feeling your best Vikki. You are in my prayers.
Good the doc is testing and taking care of you. Hopefully you won’t need to stay on niacin, that’s no fun. Take it easy Vikki, and fix yourself a good meal tonight and enjoy your coffee

Hope you get to feeling back to normal. thanks for the info on niacin. I had not heard that for cholesterol. Good info for myself and my husband.

Never had a niacin experience as I have never taken it.
I hope that feeling has left you.

Re: Niacin-take at bedtime, with benadryl 30 minutes before(my doctor told me this). My pre pharmacist the slow release kind is better to decrease flushing(more like burning of your body)and other side effects.
Thank you so much! I will try that tonight and see what happens.... I have been terrified that I would spontaneously combust! I haven’t figured out the flush part either ciz it feels more like an inferno!!!!
