beating within this heart of mine
is a rhythm deep and true
it accompanies a melody from within
which i’d like to share with you
For its coming to me every night
and whispers to me every day
So if you don’t mind me sharing
hear now what i’m going to say

everyone is worthy of rights;
everyone: worthy of love
no one should ever feel left out
or should they be made fun of
but seems we have our guidelines
that we allow society to make
and tend to adopt as very own
stereotypes from which we  partake

So we create our little  groupees
and we have our little cliques
“And if don’t change to become like us
you can just stay there in the sticks”
“We are the priveleged people”
so many folks like to say.
Yet in their narrow mindedness
have hurt people along the way

 i cannot understand this all
how so many “think” they‘re right
and claim to know whats good for all
by saying they bear the light
shutting the doors on so many
because they live a different way
i just cannot accept these ways
and look to a better day

When people accept each other
whether they are black or white
When it wont matter who you marry
to be found worthy in “gods sight”
When people will put aside their words
and see each other with love
when forms you fill out to vote wont ask
how you worship god above.

We are a people who  need the light
that will enable us to see
That every  person is worthy of love

no matter who they may be.
We all have our prejudices
which have caused so many scars
Today let us resolve to drop them all
and start healing this world of ours

When i write poetry ..there is no particular group or situation but .. my one major quirk ..especially here in the USA .we say every one is free and equal yet we are not all free and equal.

We have  rules that don’t apply to all. we have people that are not given the same rights as all.. For example, people who are gay do not enjoy the same rights as those who are straight.. In some parts of the USA.. people who are black are not given the same respect as those who are white and in most forms.. people are asked what religious denomination they belong too..and I could go on . If we are really free. .then why do such things matter.. why are we not all equal, why does it matter when registering to vote whether you believe in god or not..and in the south why is it that people are so doggone prejudice..i sat in a restaurant listenging to people diss our President who is btw african americna .. saying things like “tell him to go back to Africa” i bit my tongue and bit my tongue and was so totally disgusted when I saw that the man leading such a discussion was carrying a bible.

I think we need to respect people..we ..all peole all around the world. respect their right to choose how to marry and who they marry, right to worship or not to worship and rights to live despite the color of their skin.

I write when I write because things just are not fair and I think the people who really are light bearers are those who have no prejudices who accept everyone no matter what..

I never have anyone in mind . my poems are being posted all over the place. some with permission and others just post without asking. I am a libra and have always always been the one who will stand by those whose rights have been taken away ..whether it be little abused children or they aged... its who I am . and I never mean to offend anyone but part of the risk of writing is the risk of being criticized.

HOpe this explains and hope i didnt say anything wrong. I love all people

    • I’m from the south and not prejudice.  As a matter of fact, I’m pretty much a minority down here in South Texas.  Not all people from the south are prejudice.  I have my dislikes about certain “behaviors“.

I do think we in the USA have it so much better than people in a lot of other countries regardless of our shortcomings.
