Hey ladies I will be returning to school on May 15 to persue a degree in Health Services Management. I have registered, have things in place and I am just about ready to go and pay for my classes. However, since I am all ready to go I am having dreams of failing, arguing with professors over assignments, grades and just being anxious. Last night before I went to bed I felt so anxious.
At 44 and going back to school I know is a change that I will have to adjust to but cannot shake why I am so nervous. My GPA from previous classes I have a 3.75 but just want to get over being so anxious.
For you lovely ladies who have gone back to school how did you cope initially, was it scarey for you as well. Need some calming down.

Brimstone, first of all I want to congratulate you for making this decision. I started back in college last year, put in an intense couple of semesters and now will be entering our nursing program at UH in the fall. I, too, have been very anxious but once I learned how to be a student again, everything was ok.
As a more mature student, sometimes I shake my head when my professors say things I don’t agree with. My husband has a great policy on that one, He tells me I can look them in the eye and say anything I want, just don’t move my lips
After all, they can make my experience in college either a pleasant one or a living nightmare.
You can do this, I know you can!!

I am 48 and went back. I LOVE it! I not only relate well to my Proffesors, the “kids” are pretty awesome and fun.
Of course you are going to be nervous, but once that passes, girl, you are going to have a blast!
