Grab your makeup bag and start tossing.  Our messy cosmetic drawers and goopy purse bottoms will be a few items lighter as there is another scare in our midst.

Good.....I was getting anxious not having anything new to worry about.

The new twist on lip gloss (besides making lips supple and attractive on older women) is that all of it's shiny-ness can attract nasty UV rays from the sun thus the possibility of carcinomas appearing on the lips.   OK, nobody wants that to happen.

After the initial RED ALERT, sirens and alarms subsided and we all stepped away from the mirror checking out our lip tissue, the powers that be came forward with the good news.....all we have to do is purchase lip gloss with an SPF factor.

Whew........that was easy.  Toss and re-purchase.  My purse and wallet will be a little lighter but my lips will still look delicious.  The cosmetics companies must LOVE this!

The media saturates us with daily doses of the latest thing that's going to get us in the end.

I'll be damned if I'll let lip gloss be the ultimate grim reaper.

And I don't think I'll be the only one.  Don't get me wrong.  I like those shiny lips as much as the next lip moisture seeking woman.  After all, I live in Colorado...where dry lips are as common as a Coors beer.

But, duh, I may be blond but I know that if the lip gloss doesn't have SPF, it's not fit for my lips.

Does the media recycle their “breaking news” so this latest scare is just so last year.
