  • Hobbies & Interests

  • Favorite Activities

I love to read. Right now am reading Laughing without an Accent and The Kite Runner. It would be great to just read a chapter at a time but for now, am glad I’m at least moving forward with a little reading.

I am trying to loose weight - 10kgs to be exact. I’ve lost 2 so far and will be looking forward to the steady loss.

  • Favorite Books

I think my all time favourite yet is “The Namesake“. It’s easy, slow and it does not require me to rush and finish the book. And almost always, I can recall where I have left off.

My next favourite is short stories of ‘Dropped From Heaven Stories’ by Sophie Judah. Again, easy reading and it transports me to another place.

  • Favorite Music

I am rather partial to British music and like mostly british groups or individuals. I usually go for songs that has meaning rather than the beat.

  • Interests

I love reading, music (the 80s), movies (though I’ve not been to the movie theatre) and mostly musicals.

Am proud to be 42 and a stepmother to 2 beautiful children and an adorable husband. Still getting the hang of things because I just immigrated to the US.

    • I am from Singapore. I met and married an American... the choice of having to leave all my loved ones and going somewhere new was a heart wrenching  choice.

Being in love has its sacrifices, doesn’t it?

Have been here for about 3 years now and have not been back. I hope to. I miss everything I left for - food, environment, language, family, familiarity, convenience...

I had to leave my cat, Socks, (picture below) with my sister. I can’t bear the fact that she needs to be in cargo for the entire journey here (which takes more than 24 hours and some).  Though I miss her tremendously, my neighbour’s cat, Samantha, is making her presence felt in our home. A nice change.

Thank you Yana for welcoming me. I hope to be participating more here.

      Take care
