Hi...I am 42, and it is variable (I mean the relative age thing). I waited to start a family and am about as far from the empty nest as you can get without actually being pregnant.
BTY me name is actually Deborah, but this always seemed kinda tuffy to me and there are always many Debs and Debbies so hence the nickname.
The baby will keep you young for many years to come, I want a baby..but that’s not going to happen...I now just borrow babies to play with 
The beauty of this community, is that we come in all shapes and sizes, from all over the world, and from all different views of life. Some are just starting families, some are ready for retirement from kids..(something that never happens) either way you are in good company.

My name is Rikki, and I am a puppy mom to a house full of rescued dogs. My husband and I choice to rescue animals instead of having children. We have had over 500+ kids find their way from the streets to new homes of their own.
I hope that you enjoy being around this great group of ladies. This is “The” best site for women. So much to do and so many to get to know.

Hi from Australia! I couldn’t have children, but my husband and I are foster carers. So far we have had 41 children to love and nurture (fortunately not all at once!). We are now guardians to 4 of them. I am 48, and sometimes really feel my age when taking care of the children - however I feel truly blessed to be their mum!!
Many years ago I used to raise kangaroo babies (joeys) and release them back into the wild!
@eliz48 WOW 41 children...my hat is off to you. Don’t feel bad about the age, it’s not easy taking care of kids, and the years do take their toll, but the good news,

I love animals as well and we will probably get at least one once the kids are older. I feel foster parenting is very important (both human and animal) so hats off to Rikki Lee and Eliz48. I think it might be harder to do that as you just get attached when they have to leave.
Thank you. I do get attached and suffer separation anxiety, but we keep tabs on our adoptions. Home visits and phone calls. And if anything should happen they know that we will be here for them. To baby sit or if something happens and they need a place to stay again.
