Don't just do something, stand there! Sometimes we need to just be still and stand. Stop jumping up and reacting to every situation or circumstance. Stop trying to fix things without God's help or instruction. Stop trying to make things happen your way and in your time. When trouble comes, stand still and watch God work it out. When gossip is spread; lies are being told; relationships are breaking; jobs are on the line; finances are low; bills are high...when your enemies are rising up and fear is setting in; when the storms of life are getting rougher and your friends seem to be fewer...don't jump up and get in God's way. Stand and watch God move.

The Lord will expose the lies, mend the good relationships and destroy the ungodly ones. God will give you favor; supply your needs and take care of your enemies; He will calm your storms and give you favor with men. All you have to do is believe that He can and know that He will.

When we stand still and pray; stand still and seek; stand still and believe; stand still and listen...God will give us instruction, peace, and victory.

When the children of Israel were facing the Red Sea in front of them and their enemies, the Egyptians behind them, they panicked. Moses instructed them to '...Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord...' (Exodus 14:13) Afterward, the Lord told Moses to tell the people to move forward; He told Moses to lift up his rod and stretch out his hand, and the sea divided. The children of Israel walked across the Red Sea on dry land, and God swallowed up the Egyptians in the Sea.

The very thing that they looked at as a hindrance, the Red Sea, was not only their way to move forward, but it also ended up being the tool God used to destroy their enemy. That's why we can't fix things on our own. We don't know what to do without God; we don't know where to go without God; we don't know how to gain victory without God.

When you keep moving; keep talking and keep trying to do things on your own, it prevents you from hearing what God has to say, and can cause you to get in His way.

Just be still....and watch the salvation of the Lord.

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10
