    • Initially when I was diagnosed with severe PTSD and Anxiety Disorder in 1995... The doc put me on clonapin. STRONG drug.

Then years later, valium.  Then came my intro to martial arts... with focus on breathing. and the counseling which taught me to find my “triggers” and realize for myself that If I can “catch” my attack before it is a full blown panic attack I can do the breathing exercises and bring myself down.

BUT and this is a big but! When I am having a lot of turmoil, such as what I have been posting about... multilple deaths in family, health probs couple with financila discord etc.

I have no problem taking Valium (or the Chinese herb equivilant with acupuncture) sometimes I still need the good old western meds!

I must ad that, I have gone years with noneed for meds, but then a huge trigger comes along and I see no problem or stigma when I do need help from the doc.

Sorry - I feel like I’m ranting! See, now is a time I need the valium or Chinese medicine. happy

I say this is my life and I have to use the coping method that fits the ill at the time.

    • I was told i had GAD about 15 yrs ago now, and honestly it has made my life hell. I also have alot of depression, I have taken, i swear... clonipin, seroquel, paxil, serzone, prozac, xanax, welburtrim, ect ect. and they all helped to some degree, i love xanax and ativan, but dont have scripts for any of it anymore.
I have taken herbal products too, not sure how much they have helped. I have learnt to control it to some degree. I dont think im much of a success story with this, I hate it. And right now i have way to much stress for anything i do to help to much.
But i really need to find a doctor down here, esp when it comes to sleeping, im a severe insomiac now.
