At midnight last night I put a rather snarky comment on FB about people who eat their steaks well done. I’m surprised this morning at how many responses I’ve gotten. It got me to wondering how everyone eats their steaks.
I’m a medium.
I like mine medium well. I use to eat it well done...but I have mellowed out a bit...but I don’t like to eat “pink“....but then again...I’m not a big steak eater anyway. I find it harder for me to digest.
I like my steak medium. In restaurants I’ve found I better order “medium rare” or I’ll get a piece of over done shoe leather. ;o/ If there’s no pink in the middle it’s over cooked and a waste of money to me. ;oD

I cooked more steaks than usual last night and every one of them was medium well or well done. Seems like I could just serve them a tire off my pickup. Maybe it’s just me—I don’t have enough teeth left to deal with a piece of meat that is that chewy.
Mary brings up an intersting point. I hear a lot of women over 40 say they can’t digest meat very well anymore. Why is that??? (Althoug I know in your case Mary, you have bigger issues). My mom is one of them who says she just can’t digest beef, it gives her a belly ache. But yet she does ok with hamburger.
Tulip...my son cooked us one the other night on his new Big Green Egg grill. It was delicious...best steak I’ve ever eaten. For me..after having this gastric bypass surgery...I can’t eat a whole lot anyway...but even before the surgery I didn’t eat that much steak. I might can eat an amount the size of the palm of your hand...maybe a little less. But before surgery and after it seems that it takes forever for my food to go down and to feel “okay“. I read somewhere on that diet you do according to your blood type...that AB+ (which I am) has a hard time digesting beef. I can eat a little hamburger but since my surgery I’m not big on that either.
