Q & A

My mother, who turns 62 in April, has just been diagnosed with dementia.  We are trying to work through all of the paperwork for long-term disability (from MetLife) and SSDI.  Does anyone have any advice or tips to get through these processes?

    • Patience.  It’s a time consuming frustrating process.

Also, do you have second and third opinions on the dementia?  Have her meds been checked, etc?

    • Thank you for responding.  We only got one opinion and that took six months to get. Do you think more opinions are necessary?  Also as for her meds, she’s been on numerous medications since this happened.  She hasn’t seen her primary doctor yet so I don’t know what will change with her meds.
