    • I did today and I was fuming! First of all I never received last month’s statement and in December’s statement received on 12/22 I got a late charge of $15 for non payment of the previous bill. I immediately called to inform them that I never got the bill and to please send a copy of it. Also, I asked for a waiver of the late charge since I’m a good customer and always prompt in payments. The rep deducted $10 for good attendance. I told the rep to indicate that I’m sending a check right away.

Well today I get a threatening letter from the collection dept saying that they have attempted to reach me by phone (no messages) and failure to make timely payments could damage my credit rating. What the ***?
When I called the credit card company my balance due is 0.

    • I used to get collection notices all the time when I was with my ex.

Don’t let it get to you.  Just get to the bottom of it.  Obviously something is amiss somewhere.

    • Thank you Tulip. Today I called and they said that it’s a automatic standard letter and unfortunately the bank sent it the same day I contacted the credit company to explain. I was told that everything is good.

I get so uptight about such things and need to learn to calm down.
