    • I don’t have an answer to that, Summerbreeze, but I saw a quote several years ago that I just love, “Live your life and forget your age!”  So that’s pretty much the way I act!!!estatic

    • When I was in my 30’s I used to be concerned with changing how I dressed and acted...now that I was “older“. Now, at 50.....I want to dress and act as young as possible...and I am no longer concerned with what people think!!

      Senility has it’s pluses  estatic

    • Used to be that the saying was an insult. Indicating immaturity. Nowadays depending on the character and fitness of the woman it’s a compliment. Once again consider the source and your self image before reacting or responding. That’s what I believe.

    • I have heard it alot, both for how I look and how I act.  All the women I know act the same way I do:

      to borrow 47’s definition:

A 40+ woman carries herself like she knows where she's going, how shes going to get there and who is going with her and she does it with style, class, finesse and determination. Damn that sounds like a lot of Fabulous women I know.

      Love it!

To me being 50 means I finally donated all my too small clothes from the 80’s and I’ve decided I don’t have to hang on to things I don’t love just because someone I love gave them to me.

    • I meet a lot of people in my age group at social functions that, to put it simply, are stiffs.  I swear, they do not know how to have fun and if they did, they‘re too self-conscious to do anything about it.  I don’t care what people think, as long as I’m still acting like a lady.  I like to get on the dance floor and get a little crazy - that’s really liberating for me.

For me, I have finally come into my own in my 40’s - I find that it’s my self-confidence that is attractive to men.  And it’s true - fake it until you make it.  I don’t always feel confident but I try to exude it anyway.

One thing I won’t do is dress like my 20 year old daughter.  I won’t wear short skirts anymore, even if they look good, because I feel I’m too old for them.
