    • Yes, my hair is baby fine.  There is no particular shampoo I use.  Right now, I’m using Suave shampoo.  I haven’t found any shampoo that makes it look any thicker.  There are plenty of shampoos that say they do that, but I haven’t found one that actually does that.

Good Luck, hopefully someone will have the answer for us!

    • I use Pantene because I color my hair.  I blow dry my hair and also use a curling iron.  Every day.  I think curling it makes it appear thicker.

    • I find the best way to “thicken” the hair is to highlight or lowlight it. The bleaching action and depositing of color expands the hair shaft...hence thicker!  You needn’t even change the color much if you don’t want to....have them do a color that is 1-2 shades lighter or darker than your natural. The more high/lowlights....the thicker it will be.

      I use a shampoo for color-treated hair.

    • my hair used to be oily-but not so much since menopause.  It is still very fine though.  I’m not that picky w/ my shampoo.  I usually go one of 2 ways-whatever is at Costco (which means I don’t have to think about it for about 9 months) or I use the little bottles that hotels give you!

    • Terri, try the Tresseme’ clarifying shampoo. I use it a couple times a week as we have well water and to get any residue out. It does a great job cleansing and makes your hair look fuller. You can use it every day. happy

    • Jenni, you are correct, the chemical treatments will open the cuticle and give the hair the illusion of being thicker, and creating fullness.
As a hairstylist, I always say virgin hair is for children! LOL Chemically treated hair (as long as it’s not over processed) is so much easier to work with.
Clarifying shampoo is good to remove residues of styling products and hard water minerals, but it can also rid your hair of the good things as well. It’s not something you want to use every day. Malibu makes a great shampoo called Making Water Well, it keeps hard water buildup at bay.

As far as a shampoo for fullness, you want to stay away from anything that has heavy conditioners in it. The conditioners weight the hair down and make it limp. Especially if your hair is fine to begin with.
Matrix has a great line of products called Amplify. Their shampoo, conditioners and styling products work great in helping add volume to your hair. estatic

    • I have the same problem...thin, fine oily hair that must be shampooed every day.

I’ve been using Pantene for years. I use their Full and Thick Shampoo and Conditioner and about twice a week I use the Clarifying to cleanse well. I have found, too, that I cannot use a lot of product in my hair as it tends ot just weigh it down and make it look dirty. I wear a simple style and if I spray I use Tresemme Ultra Fine Mist. I do color my hair and the ladies are right, it does add volume and tends to dry it some, which helps. Just don’t overdue on the clarifying shampoo as it will strip the color.
