    • Yes, we are in changing times and sadly I know a multitude of people who didn't network and now are desperately trying to as they have no job or no new contacts to build their business. You might be safe in your job but it makes smart sense to continue networking if you want to develop your career.
I'm always networking as you never know where the next opportunity comes from and I work very hard at maintaining my network. I have also noticed those who didn't or couldn't be bothered before to network and now are trying to get up to speed by "gate crashing " other folks networks can cause a lot of resentment.
In this economy a good network is like money in the bank .......

    • Yes, I network all the time. I rarely miss an opportunity to let people know what I do and always have business cards with me. I also give a lot of product away. I bring small boxes of chocolate with me to the bank to give to the tellers, I give them to the clerks at the post office, I give them to checkers at the grocery store and I offer to make table favors for charity functions at either a reduced rate or for free.

It’s important to remember, too, that networking is also relationship building. It has to be give and take.

My business partner is a perfect example of this. She has just survived through the worst possible financial setback she ever could survive. Through her years of relationship building she is still getting just enough business to keep her afloat while others in her business are going under.
