    • I have to say that Joe has such a concise plan for the future that I don’t have much stress about budget. Except, he’s pretty cheap in a lot of ways so even when we do have the money for something it’s like pulling teeth to get him to agree to it.

    • Stresfully calming..tongue out

I haven’t always been a good budgeter, but in the last few years I have tried to do better..I dont have a “budget” per se probably because that word strikes images of poverty into my  brain..I have a spending plan (it just sounds more fun)...

I usually cook from scratch and my luxury item for me is the internet..I have only since being put on long term disability been able to save a few dollars..I think it’s the reality that I dont have a paycheck coming in that has made me more tightfisted with my funds...

And yes-I feel as if I have a bit more control of my financial future - for now..

    • Sandra are you able to get assistance from your state because of taking care of your grandchildren? My husband’s ex wife has guardianship of our little granddaughter and she’ll be getting some help even though she works full time. It’s not much but every little bit helps.

    • Oh my, Joe sounds like my husband...I never have to worry about the budget, but he is not really open to suggestions...grrr. But, I am very thrifty with my shopping funds, and clipping coupons and shopping sales makes me happy!  I consider myself a good steward of our $$ and do what I can to make it stretch without being a total cheap ass.

    • Having been a bookkeeper, I call it budget, but Sanda... I agree, “spending plan” does sound way more fun! ;oD

LOL, Lyah... these days I’m squeezing dollars so tight they barely get the chance to gasp in surprise. It’s a challenge and I seem to thrive on challenges or the thrill of feeling like I’m winning. LOL
