Q & A

I am 54 years old.  I seem to be weight loss proof for the last 5 years.  I used to be able to lose it.  I barely eat and I go to the gym. Before the gym I walked. I have not started menopause yet, will this weight loss proof deal last forever?

    • Hi!

It seems that it as we age what we need to do is change what we eat along with changing up our exercise. Not eating much makes the body revolt into hanging onto fat calories. A light diet but plenty of the nutrients is more helpful in losing weight. We need a different balance of proteins (meats and fish) in comparison to carbohydrates. Fruit and veggies are a carbohydrate, it’s not just pasta or rice or breads. Up your fiber intake and you’ll notice a difference, I promise. We should have a daily intake of 25 gr of fiber a day.

Some of our younger habits has trained our body to repond in one way, so changes are going to take awhile to affect our scale weight. Don’t give up!

    • Once you pass that half century mark, everything needs to change, diet, exercise regimens, sleep cycles. Stress can also affect your metabolism. Touch base with your doctor before you start overhauling things, your body is not something to play with!
