Living My  Life

  • New Life, New Experiences...

Posted on Friday, June 12, 2015

My  life has changed! My precious husband of many decades passed last year, so now my journey is solo.  He was the love of my life.  But God in His infinite wisdom gave me a wonderful family and some special friends to help me along the way.

In April, my younger daughter and I flew to California on vacation and we stayed in Hollywood.  It was my first time going there! Boy, did we have a wonderful time traveling, sightseeing and experiencing the flavor in several cities while there.  We saw several celebrities within feet of us too!

This year I’ve made numerous day trips to shop and explore in new places, eat at new restaurants and try new dishes with family/friends. Also, I’ve joined two new organizations at my church.  I’ve even taken a home cooked dish to church for the first time in years!lol

In my home, I reorganized my pantry using storage bins and containers for the very first time.  It really is beautiful! In my garden, I’m growing some flowers and veggies that I’ve never grown before!

Learning to handle ALL the business aspects of daily living is an ever evolving work in progress.  I am having great success along with help from my loved ones.  I do feel blessed!

And finally, I took my car to be detailed for the very first time a couple of days ago.  Although, many of my firsts are due to necessity, I’m so thankful that God has given me the spirit to move forward and Enjoy Life! Each day is an adventure! I am grateful and looking forward to many more firsts.

    With A Grateful HeartButterflyrose

I will miss him dearly and will cherish his memory for the rest of my life.  God blessed us to have shared  these wonderful years together.

  • Wow, Wow,Wow...What a Valentine's Day!<3

Posted on Friday, February 15, 2013

What can I say? Where do I begin? Here it is!  My very sweet wonderful hubby planned surprises for me throughout the day.

First, he expressed words of love and gave me an ASUS tablet! What? I just mentioned I was thinking about getting one.

Later, the doorbell rang, it was a delivery of 1 dozen red roses in a one-of-a-kind silver swirl vase! Roses are my favorite.

But that wasn’t all! After, I returned home from shopping for a delectable  Valentine’s Day dinner, there was yet another surprise!

My husband seranaded me with “Always Together.” Yes, he can sing! Oh my, yes, yes; yes he can! Then he presented me with another gift!

It is a girl’s best friend! Yes, diamonds,  but not just your ordinary diamonds.  My hubby gifted me with a band of BLACK DIAMONDS intertwined  with white diamonds.  My ring finger is SPARKLING!  Gosh, I have laughed and cried tears of joy all day!

My hubby really gave me the WOW, WOW and more WOW Factor this Valentine’s Day!

Honey, I love you and every day my love for you grows more and more!

  • The Maids Came

Posted on Thursday, January 17, 2013

Tuesday was the day! The maids came, 2 of them. My home is sparkling clean and smells so fresh. Diana and Serai worked for 6 hours cleaning(12 manpower hours). They climbed high and reached low into the nooks and crannies.  Wiping, dusting, scrubbing, polishing, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and changing the linen.  They did their job and did it well. It looks and feels like the home we built 16 years ago!

  • Goal in Progress

Posted on Thursday, January 3, 2013

It didn’t start out as a planned goal, but it happened due to my hubby’s generosity.  Remember, I shared with you that my hubby gifted me with continuous Maid Service as a Christmas gift.

With that being my gift, it immediately caused me to begin decluttering my home.  Who would dare let the maids come and find items that could, should or would’ve been given away, stored, tossed or otherwise not being in its desired place! Not me! Yes, I am one of those people who must “clean before the maid comes“!

Fast forward a few days later. Here’s what I’ve accomplished! I’ve found myself even working a midnite shift. I’ve decluttered my kitchen counters of my lovely decorations,  My kitchen has a minimalist look with remnants of me left! My closet is being stripped and many items have been donated. There are many more articles of clothing that will find new homes! Well, my shoes haven’t been touched.  You know how I feel about them.  But since some haven’t been worn in a while; I’ll give myself a serious talk, rationalize how they will bless someone else and let a few pairs go. Bye, bye my precious foot candy!

I’ve donated books, clothing, vases, decorative pillows, candles, kitchen items and there’s still more to go! Also, tossing items along the way in the way of “Where did all these telephone books come from“? Today, I’ll be pulling out another HUGE box to fill for the next charity pick-up.

All because I received Maid Service as a gift!

Posted on Tuesday, September 25, 2012

To  decorate my mantle for fall, I used blue  and brown fabric w/ beaded edging along with fall leaves/glitter, papier mache pumpkin basket, picture of zebras(one of my favorite animals) grazing on the plain and a blue vase imprinted with faith, hope and love saying.

    Enjoy the beauty of fall!
